Mom's Thoughts

Day AFTER Graduation
May 23, 2009

You are already gone on your band trip to Kansas City... Hope you're having a fantastic time and as soon as you come back you'll be leaving on your church trip to Colorado... busy summer. Make lots of money!!!

I, on the other hand, am cleaning the house from the party last night and trying to put into words the emotions I have felt this week.... excitement, sadness, nausea, dread, pride, exhaustion, nervousness, elation, anticipation, and nostalgic to name a few..

But the most important is proud.... I am SO proud of the young man you have become and the man you are yet to become. No one could be more proud of their son than I am of you. It is no secret I am your biggest fan, aside from Dani maybe! (lol) But you are such a great guy. You have a witty, somewhat dry sense of humor, that I like to think you got from me that will take you FAR in life! You are kind and respectful and that is extremely important. And... you have a good heart. That's what I love most about you.

I know that if something were to happen to me tomorrow, you would be fine and you are going to grow up to be and incredible man who I am not going to have to worry about. You are going to be a good husband and father, because you have incredible morals embedded inside you and you know right from wrong. And when the rubber hits the road... you're going to do the right thing. I know that about you. You are not perfect by any means and you are going to make mistakes along the way and that's okay. Those who know you will still love you and respect you. Just learn from those mistakes and go on. Keep God first in your life and He will lead you down the right path EVERY time. But remember, He will allow you to choose your own path as well so be careful.

I'm going to miss you more than you know! I'm going to miss a lot of things... You have been my whole life for all of your life. I couldn't be more proud of you, son. Now... go forth and conquer the world!

I love you with all my heart,
Mom
